Our Testimony
We are a Christian family from the little town of Amboy, Washington. The folks who make up the Wright family are Ted (Dad), Kim (Mom), Nikki, Courtney, Daniel, Naomi, Caleb, and Mandi.
We often have curious folks ask us about our beliefs concerning Christianity. We believe the Holy Bible is the Word of God, the ultimate authority on all matters of faith, and strive to live by it, though we fall short. (All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16.)
What we really believe about heaven is summed up in Romans 10:9 and 10:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Eighteen years ago, Ted sat at the dining room table of our pastor's home and asked Jesus Christ to come into his heart and save him. He didn't do any special works, he simply believed in his heart Jesus died for him, confessed that he was a sinner, and asked Jesus Christ to come into his heart and save him.
Romans 6:23 says:
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Where it says above "the wages of sin is death", you see, that is what we
deserve! God has given to us the gift of eternal life, but it's a gift we need
to receive!
Ephesians 2:8&9 says:
For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
It is of God's grace we are saved through faith! God knows our hearts..if salvation was received through our good works, we would be in heaven bragging saying, "Look at me! I made it!"
One by one, each of the family members has received this gift of salvation. It is our prayer that each of you reading this would also receive this gift.
All the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to
me I will in no wise cast out. --John 6:37
