ANNOUNCING THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE BAND!!
ATHENA, the Nechville Banjo, (not Tom, the banjo maker) will be coming to join the Wrights' in the next couple of weeks. Courtney is currently being endorsed by Nechville Banjo. Details on the July 16th addition to Momma's Journal!
The Wrights' are a gospel bluegrass band originally from Amboy, Washington, currently residing in Waynesville, North Carolina. The members include Ted (Dad), Kim(Mom), Nikki (18), Courtney (17), Daniel (15), Naomi (14), Caleb (11), and Amanda (7). The Wrights' feature guitar, banjo, bass, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, and beautiful three-part harmony.
What began as the "Wright Sisters" in June 2004 at the Winlock Bluegrass Festival quickly grew into the "Wright Family Band". The family has now been performing at various venues all over the state of Washington and into Oregon. In the fall of 2006, they ventured all across America on their first ever tour, performing in churches, festivals, and even for the federal government at the Blue Ridge Music Center in Galax, Virginia! Their recordings have also received air time on various radio stations across America!
Due to a very successful tour, and many requests for their return, the Wrights' have relocated to the south, and are currently calling Waynesville, North Carolina, their home. They have, by faith, turned their part-time music ministry into a full-time job! (Anyone interested in having them, be sure and contact them through the information on the site.)
The Wrights' have appeared in various publications across the nation. They were honored to be selected as one of the #1 Country Musicians and were featured in the September/October 2005 issue of Country Magazine.
At this time, the band has three cd's and a dvd available for purchase. They are available on this site for those interested.
